Guests will arrive to cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and meaningful conversation before stepping into an exclusive guided tour of the legendary Tree Sound Studios, where icons like Beyoncé, Outkast, Drake, and Taylor Swift have all recorded.
The evening reaches its peak with a live performance by rising jazz saxophonist Hiruy Tirfe — internationally acclaimed, first-place winner of the 2024 DC JazzPrix International Band Competition, and one of the most compelling voices in contemporary jazz today. Philadelphia-born saxophonist, composer, and bandleader Hiruy Tirfe is an emerging force in contemporary jazz whose soulful sound and dynamic stage presence have earned him international acclaim and collaborations with Patti LaBelle, The Roots, Solange, and DJ Jazzy Jeff. A graduate of the University of the Arts and a first-generation American, Tirfe blends jazz, R&B, and global influences into a sound that is both deeply rooted and entirely his own captured on his debut album 10,000 Hours, which received widespread critical praise.
In 2024, Tirfe and his quartet claimed first place at the prestigious DC JazzPrix International Band Competition, and he has since joined the roster of SRG/ILS Group — marking a powerful new chapter in an already impressive career. Whether in the recording studio, on the stage, or in the classroom, Hiruy Tirfe brings energy, authenticity, and artistry to everything he touches.
